One of the most prestigious names in the food industry, Booths, has once again chosen C-TEC’s UK-manufactured equipment to be installed at another of its flagship stores.

At the heart of the life safety systems at the new Booths store in Garstang, Preston is C-TEC’s LPCB-approved 2 loop 32-zone XFP analogue addressable fire alarm control panel. The powerful panel commands over 100 Apollo XP95 devices and a combination of C-TEC manufactured loop powered sounders and sounder/beacons.

Two of C-TEC’s fully BS5839 part 9 compliant SigTEL disabled refuge systems have also been installed, and are connected to six stainless steel hands free duplex outstations situated in the refuge areas around the building. In the event of an emergency, the system will facilitate effective two-way communication between building management and people located in the refuge areas to, firstly, assist rescue teams in determining where assistance is required and, secondly, to reassure people help is on the way.

Said Nigel Thomas of Solid State, the specialist installation company that completed the project: “We have an excellent relationship with Booths and, as a BAFE-registered company, take pride in installing the best equipment on the market. This is the fourth store in which we have installed C-TEC’s life-safety equipment”.

C-TEC is a leading manufacturer of life safety equipment including fire alarm control panels, disabled refuge systems, power supplies and call communication systems. All C-TEC’s products are manufactured in the UK in an environment approved by three major independent approval bodies, the LPCB, the BSI and the VdS. Last year, the company’s products were exported to over 60 countries.
